Food allergies are when the body’s immune system reacts abnormally to certain foods. Although allergic reactions are often mild, they can be very serious. Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is one of the most common food allergies in childhood. A person may react by eating even a small amount of milk or dairy foods.

Some nursing babies may experience colic or eczema if the mother eats cow’s milk or dairy foods.

Many babies will overcome milk allergies. A study from the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology (ACAAI) found that 53% of infants under one year of age are allergic to milk, but only 15% of adolescents.
